Returns, cancellations & damage

The three conversations nobody wants to have, answered in advance. Our default setting is 'reasonable' — talk to us early and we’ll always try to find the fair outcome.

1. Returns

Return the dress by the return date on your booking, in the garment bag it came in. Don’t wash, iron or attempt to clean it — professional cleaning is included in every hire.

Late returns hold up the next customer’s event, so a late fee of 20% of the hire price applies per day late, deducted from your bond first. If a late return forces us to cancel someone else’s booking, you may be liable for that hire fee too.

2. Cancellations

7+ days before your hire starts: full refund of the hire fee and bond.

3–6 days before: the bond is refunded and the hire fee converts to a credit valid for 12 months.

Within 72 hours: the bond is refunded; the hire fee is non-refundable, because it’s usually too late to re-hire the dress.

To cancel, contact us with your booking reference. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.

3. Fit guarantee

If a dress genuinely doesn’t fit and is returned unworn (tags intact) within 24 hours of pick-up, we’ll swap it for another available dress or credit your hire fee. A $15 try-on is cheap insurance that makes this section irrelevant.

4. Minor wear

Normal wear from one careful evening — a loosened thread, light marks that standard dry cleaning removes — is covered by the hire fee. You will not be charged for it and your bond comes back in full.

5. Damage

Tell us about any damage as soon as it happens — honesty genuinely earns goodwill here. Repairable damage (small tears, stubborn stains, broken zips) is charged at the actual repair or specialist-cleaning cost, deducted from the bond.

If damage exceeds the bond, or the dress can’t be restored to a hireable state, you’re liable up to the dress’s recommended retail price (RRP) shown on its listing, less the bond already held.

6. Loss or non-return

A dress that isn’t returned within 14 days of the return date (and where we can’t reach you) is treated as lost, and its RRP becomes payable as the replacement price. We’d honestly rather have the dress back — call us.

7. Bond refunds

Bonds are released within 3 business days of the dress passing its post-hire inspection. If any deduction is made, we’ll send an itemised breakdown before processing it.
